Photography shots

Ok so before I put the portfolio up I'll put these up, I'm taking a Photography class this semester and even though I don't have a DSLR camera, I guess I still managed to get out some decent shots. The assignment was to get some abstract shots of textures or textiles. Abstract and I usually don't get along so well but my teacher said I did a decent job so hooray! Enjoy! I'm working on getting the Portfolio pieces up. :)

Ahaha - I drew this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend (before we were actually dating):D Characters from Pysconauts and Invader Zim, done in Corel Painter.

This was the poster that I showed in the Student Exhibition last semester, it was up on the wall next to one of the pages of my comics (see previous post - page 2 of the comic) Done in Illustrator.

Below is the brochure I did for my Graphic Design final last semester - I chose to do a brief description of Cinque Terre, 5 towns along the Italian Coast just below the Italian Riviera. They're beautiful cities, and all the photos were taken by me. Done in Photoshop and InDesign.

 

Up next I'll be putting up all the pieces that were in my portfolio when it won at the San Diego Fair last year - I have to change it up this semester so I want to put up all the pieces since it's going to change. 

Yikes, I need to get into a regular habit of producing something to put up here... going a month or more without updating is not very productive!

I actually have been working on different projects, right now I'll just put up a few things and work on converting all the files I have into something that Blogger will accept (all my files right now are either PDF's or Illustrator/InDesign files :P)

An update? What's that??

Wow. It has been WAY too long since I've update, I apologize. My computer decided it did not like functioning, and then I got sick... Woosh! It was a great finish to the semester, then a nice long visit back home before dashing off to work in Staten Island, NY. So now I must collect my work and start up posting again, though I think a lot of my work from the semester I left at home. I'll start off right now with a few things I was working on during the semester along with my projects :) Also messing about with the layout for a little bit, I think I like it... Enjoy.

Sketches

Alrighty, so this is the basic work I've done for sketching -just taking random objects or coming up with your own and sketching them in different angles and such. Again sorry for the quality. For the final we're coming up with our own concept and sketching it out, should be awesome :) I'm doing a design on a motorcycle because I'm a glutton for punishment :D That train got me extra homework - which was both a good thing and a bad thing :P The last couple are perspective sketches - they were insane to do because of all the paper we had to use!

So I was going through all of the drawings I've done this semester and decided to finally pull out a few to put up here. Sorry about the quality, I don't have access to a scanner so again it's all done with the camera. This entry I'll just put up Comics drawings, kind of doing a timeline where you'll see work from the beginning of the semester up til now. I noticed big changes in how the character was drawn from then til now, it's crazy looking back on the semester and seeing where you've come from. The name of the main character is Darktongue, the story is still kind of in development but it'll get there :)

Spring!

So again, lack of updating this blog. Very sorry, the semester has been busy. But thankfully it's just about Spring break so I can take a break and get some of my work up here!! I'm going to put up some Photoshop and 3D for now, and then I'll work on getting my drawings for Sketching and Comics up, and after that maybe if I figure it out I'll get some of my work from Flash up here :)
This is practice for 3D, working with lights and rendering. 3D is a complicated software, not gonna lie.

In Photoshop we were working with doing dye-tone effects on photographs so I did a few and kind of like how they turned out, rather an easy, simple thing to do in PS :)



And this is a photo montage of a picture I took off of the Ponte Vecchio in Firenze and a friend of mine, who is now blissfully floating down the Arno ;D
