Oh, have I mentioned on here that I'm getting married? Because I am :D So wedding planning and work have encompassed a lot of my time. Though I am very much trying to keep projects going. I finally sat down to design something for myself here recently, so now I'm going to share!
This was... I don't know what inspired this. But now I have to work on getting a logo done, and just complete a package. Because it will be fun.
I was perusing wedding sites and magazines and all of that fun stuff, and I was just overwhelmed by the amount of super skinny models EVERYWHERE I LOOKED. Look, skinny girls are beautiful, no question, but people are so diverse and amazingly different and most of your average clientele has at least a little bit of meat on their bones, so I just quickly came up with these three designs of different body shaped models based on some of the images I saw. Enjoy!

Sketchbook posts
Everyone knows that keeping a sketchbook or art journal is essential to doing anything creative. From just jotting down thoughts to thumbnails for a project to just going with whatever your mind wants to create, sketching and doodling are fun ways to relieve stress, brainstorm, or just let your mind be creative.
Here are a few entries from my most recent sketchbook:
Never stop doodling. I doodle everywhere. Even on me, if I don't have any paper...
Colored pencils are always fun, I should use them more often. Prismacolors, baby!
First entry of my current sketchbook. I like it. A lot.
When you're stuck in an airport for hours on end and the guy with the epic mustache WON'T STOP TALKING ON THE PHONE, what else can you do but immortalize him in your sketchbook?
Funky, not proportional, blue... I love this. I think I did this while waiting for a meeting to start (said meeting eventually got cancelled so this was the only outcome of that meeting.)

Yikes, it has been FAR too long. Luckily it's a new year, time to change things and get back into the swing of things!
Lots of new things on the store, very excited about how it's going. My Facebook page is almost at 100 likes, yay! Trying my best to keep that more up to date...

Here are some new things that I'm working on:
This is on the store, as pillows, coffee mugs, etc. This is my LIFE - I drink so much coffee my DNA is starting to turn...
This isn't on the store yet but I still like it :)
This was a prompt from a retreat, very simple...
This was from an Invitation project that unfortunately fell through... Wish I could have used it... oh well :/
This was from what a client said to me about designing a book cover... *headesk*

There once was a girl from New York, who used a spoon in place of a fork...
This is how I've been feeling lately. I feel too tired from my regular job that I come home and do NOT feel like drawing or designing anything. Although I do design for my regular job, so I guess I'm still keeping in practice.
Added a background for my Ariel piece. I like it. I think it turned out beautifully.
Maleficent. In my opinion, the most evil and bad-assed villainess. Just a small poster in her honor :)
If you're visiting here from my Facebook page, leave a comment! Tell me to design something! Tell me to eat ice-cream! I like hearing from people, even if it's critical - I need the critiques, trust me. Enjoy, and Happy Independence Day Weekend! :D

Whew. I need to update this more.
Just a few items today. Started a Facebook page, that's pretty exciting.
https://www.facebook.com/CathieNorrisDesigner
Almost up to 50 followers! Yay! On Facebook right now I haven't posted a lot, but I'll get there. Right now working on something that a friend suggested, based off of a doodle. I'll post the series of pics here:
This was the doodle I put up first, and someone said it reminded her of Ariel, so I decided to do my own :)
Sketch one.
More detailed sketches as I continued working on it...
This is the colored version so far... It's getting there! kind of excited about it... still needs something, though... not 100% sure what... but I'll get it!
So other than this, I haven't done much... oh, except for my new favorite pic:
Happy Easter! :D

Where did I get these wonderful items, you may ask? Why, at my own store!! At reasonable prices! You don't need to be a millionaire to be this fancy!

Doodles make great starts...
... to pretty nifty drawings, I must say. At least this one did. I'm rather happy with it. This was a doodle from some random piece of paper, scanned in, and re-traced/colored in Photoshop.
This was a pencil sketch a long time ago from Florence. I finally did something with it. It needs more in the background maybe? But whatevs, I like it so far. LiveTraced in Illustrator, cleaned up and colored in Photoshop.
I also attempted to make one of those cool grungie-graphic-photo-type images with all the cool splatter effects and whatnot... well, I mean I guess this is cool buuuut... I dunno. I'll have to work on it. I like it, just not 100% what I was going for... Photoshop for the photo touch-ups and Illustrator for the final and the splatters.
